Our mission is to cater to every student’s unique needs while bringing an excitement of learning to the world. With our caring tutors and customized memberships, we believe everyone can succeed to fulfill their desired goals with flying colors. Whether it’s to gain confidence in a class, to ace the next test, or an extra push, we’ve got you covered.
We've assessed several needs of students and parents and found that mentoring/tutoring meets many of these deeply-felt needs, whether emotional, mental, social, or financial. Read about these needs and how Gooroo makes a positive and lasting impact in the lives of NYC families.
He felt fortunate to have such expert guidance, but realized that it was inaccessible to most of his peers. In high school, Scott connected thousands of tutors to Korean students in need. After college, Scott created Gooroo to bring accessibility and excitement to education outside the classroom in New York and beyond. Today, Gooroo is a burgeoning community of passionate teachers and curious students.
Every student is different and has different needs. Every instructor has a different set of skills and experiences. Each student-tutor pairing is unique. Rather than attempting to standardize our instruction, at Gooroo, we seek to celebrate the distinct skillsets of each member in our community. We grow to understand every student’s individual learning style.
We make sure Gooroos provide timely feedback to keep parents on top of their kids’ learning progress. We offer detailed monthly progress reports, on top of session by session feedback and a student profile that keeps track of learning over time. We want to help you or your child improve and celebrate every success, small or large.
“My Gooroo tutors were different. They cared more.”
- Jasper, student
We strive to live out our values of community and service each day. One way we do that is through Gooroo Gives Back, a nonprofit initiative that provides one-on-one academic mentoring and tutoring to those that have hindered access to education, such as low-income children and the eldery.
