Glue Gun Crafting and the Baroque Period
What do glue gun crafting and the baroque period have in common? They’re both part of the Gooroo Clubs curriculum next week! Keep reading to learn more.
What Are We Learning This Week?
This week is all about musical theatre, matter, and competition. Additionally, we welcomed our new club: After School in ASL.
Music Club
Join Gooroo Brooke T. on a journey through the wonderful world of musical theatre. If you love show tunes, you’re in the right place!
- Explore the three crucial elements that make up musical theatre including libretto, music, and lyrics, and get inspired to write your own show.
- Examine musical theatre’s rich history and how the art form has evolved over time.
- Investigate the importance of story, drama, collaboration, the integration of a “book”, and the experience of musical theatre as a whole.
This week is part of a 3-week-long mini series investigating the various genres of music.
STEM Maker Club
Let’s get molecular with matter! Engage in experiments exploring the four states of matter, kinetic energy, and water cycles. Join Gooroo Joyce S. in:
- Using tasty treats to observe scientific principles.
- Building a homemade thermometer.
- Creating a biome in a bag.
After School in ASL
We met Gooroo Angela O. in our new club taught in American Sign Language. This week, capture your favourite memories in one place with a Sentimental Book. This is a great way to save memories like plane tickets, photos, and birthday cards in an organised way. Make a metallic cover, add in mementos, and watercolour a few pages to add a pop of colour. Grab your glue gun and get sticking!
Eco Club
Last, but certainly not least, Gooroo Payton S. takes us on his investigation into relationships in our environment. It’s a competitive place out there! Follow Payton in determining the relationships of predators and prey, and everything in between.
