Aesthetic Pictures and Words of Gratification
Aesthetic pictures remind us of the beauty that exists all around us. It’s important to take the time in our lives to stop and appreciate our existence. Given the state of the world right now, this can feel especially hard to do. But, it’s so vital to our wellbeing to allow ourselves the space to stop and contemplate. Use the aesthetic pictures and words of gratification in this blog to help you do just that.
Give Thanks to Nature
Breathe in. Give thanks to the air in your lungs and the ground at your feet. Appreciate the sun as it rises and sets on a new day, every day. If you live in a city, make time to note when nature sneaks its way in through grass in the cracks of, or the roots uplifting, side walks. Let the wind navigate its way around you. Breathe out.
…to Your Body
Breathe in. Feel the breath travel into the depths of your lungs. Let it sit in this chasm. Appreciate your body and all it does for you. It keeps you moving. It gets you from A to B. Your body is keeping you alive. It is getting you through a pandemic and it will get you through more. Thank your body for its perseverance and promise to give it sustenance and rest. Breathe out.
…to Your Community
Breathe in. Think about your neighbours. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Think about the many lives that brush past yours everyday. Thank them for their effort in keeping you safe in these trying times. Thank those who keep your community going. Whose essential work is what keeps your community alive. Breathe out.
Give Thanks to Your Friends and Family
Breathe in. Conjure up your family in your mind. It can be those who are related by blood and those who you found along the way. Remember the small moments spent together whether that be cooking a meal, going on a walk, or just existing next to each other as you watch tv. Thank them for their love and support and for the opportunity they give to you to love and support. Breathe out.
…to Your Strength and Resilience
Breathe in. Recall your strength in times of need. Remember how you pushed through the darkness to find the light. Trust in your resilience. Trust that you have it within you to make it through the hardships you face. You can rely on yourself as much as you rely on others. Not only do you have the capacity for bravery and inner power, but you also have the knowledge that you are strong. Breathe out.
…to Your Ability to Change and Grow
Breathe in. As well as strength and resilience, you possess plasticity and the ability to change and grow. Thank your mind for its thirst for knowledge. Thank the world and your teachers for helping you learn. Consider what you will do with this new information and how you can set about making the world a better place. Most importantly, continue to ignite your passion in your education and believe in your potential to the fullest. Breathe out.
